Wimbledon Reels is a group of friendly dancing enthusiasts who meet on Tuesday each week in Wimbledon in south-west London to dance Scottish country dances - reels, jigs and strathspeys. We are committed to the idea that Scottish country dancing should be fun, and we have an experienced team of MCs who walk through and call all our dances so that everyone can join in.
We limit ourselves to a small range of dances, which most of our regulars know well and new members can learn very quickly. We do about 10 dances in an evening, each one followed by a short interval to relax, socialise and enjoy a glass of wine or a soft drink. At the end of the evening, a happy (if perspiring) crowd makes its way to the pub to continue socialising!
We meet every Tuesday from 19:30 to 22:00 at Trinity Church Hall, Mansel Road, Wimbledon, London SW19 4AA.
See below for a map and directions.
We welcome newcomers, whatever their level of experience. If you've never done Scottish country dancing before click here
We welcome people from both the Reeling and RSCDS styles of dancing. If you don't know what the difference is, click here
We meet in Trinity Church, Mansel Road, SW19 4AA, a really smart newly refurbished building with a lovely sprung floor that is ideal for dancing. It is close to both Wimbledon Station and Tramlink stops.
How to get there...
